Town of Menasha Names SCA Its 2010 Business of the Year
TOWN OF MENASHA, Wis., – Citing SCA’s long-term commitment and contributions to the region, the Town of Menasha awarded the tissue maker its 2010 Business of the Year award Monday evening.
Town Supervisors Greg Ziegler and Mike Dillon presented the award, which was accepted by Mark Phiscator, Vice President, Engineering and Maintenance, SCA’s North American tissue division.
“This award reinforces that SCA has developed deep roots in the Town of Menasha,” said Phiscator. “We are very proud to do business here and grateful for the Town’s support of our projects, like the installation of our four new wind turbines last year, which are symbols of our sustainability commitment, and our recently completed building expansion and renovations at our Service Excellence Center.”
Other contributions made in 2010 by SCA included donating $50,000 for the redevelopment of Fritse Park, awarding a total of $7,500 in environmental education grants to five area schools, sponsorship of a sustainability fair in the summer and the town’s e-recycling event in the fall, tree plantings, and support of youth sports, Rebuilding Together®, American Red Cross and United Way drives, and the family entertainment series at Schildt Park.
SCA has approximately 930 employees in the Fox Cities, including 760 between its Menasha mill and Neenah converting facility and 170 at its Service Excellence Center in the Town of Menasha. In addition to Wisconsin, SCA’s North American tissue division, which is headquartered in Philadelphia, has manufacturing facilities in Alabama, Arizona and New York, and employs more than 2,200 in the United States and Canada.
