SCA Tissue Donates More than $6,000 to American Cancer Society’s Sole Burner Run/Walk
SCA Tissue has donated more than $6,000 to the 28th American Cancer Society’s Sole Burner Run/Walk taking place May 8, in Appleton, Wis. In addition to giving $5,000 as one of the major event sponsors, the company also is contributing nearly $1,400 to cover registration fees for participating employees and family members from its Wisconsin facilities — 74 people total.
“We have sponsored employees and their families to participate in the Sole Burner since 2006,” said Neal Richter, SCA Tissue safety manager for the Midwest region who facilitated the company’s event efforts. “Community involvement is an important part of our culture at SCA. We are proud to support our employees’ continued participation in local community events and activities like this one.”
SCA Tissue has nearly 950 employees in the Fox Cities, with nearly 800 between its Menasha mill and Neenah converting facility, as well as 150 at its Service Excellence Center in the town of Menasha. In addition to Wisconsin, SCA Tissue North America, which is headquartered in Philadelphia, has manufacturing facilities in Alabama, Arizona and New York. The company employs more than 2,000 in the United States.
