Innovative, Stylish Dispensers Control Consumption for More Cost-Effective Facilities
PHILADELPHIA, PA (October 7, 2009) – SCA Tissue North America today unveiled its new line of Tork® Elevation™ products from booth #1530 at ISSA 2009. The line constitutes SCA Tissue’s largest washroom dispenser launch in ten years and is the newest complete family of Tork dispensers, allowing for a consistent look throughout the washroom.
Built with an eye toward design, Tork Elevation systems improve efficiency and cleanliness while reducing waste, providing a cost-effective solution for washrooms. According to a Harris Interactive survey recently commissioned by SCA Tissue, 88 percent of business patrons agree that restroom cleanliness reflects the hygiene standards throughout the establishment, and 29 percent said they would never return to a business with an extremely unclean or unsanitary restroom. Tork’s Elevation products provide a positive first step toward keeping the facilities mess-free and hygienic, helping ensure repeat patronage from customers.
Like all Tork dispensers, the Elevation line decreases consumption at the source, positively impacting both the environment and businesses’ bottom lines. Less consumption translates into smaller quantities of product to be purchased and refilled, along with less unsightly trash accumulating in washrooms for disposal. Additionally, the smooth product surface is less susceptible to contamination and dirt build-up in cracks, corners or small areas of the dispenser and simplifies cleaning, while no-touch functionality allows customers and employees to avoid touching anything but the paper towel after washing their hands.
“Elevation is part of a global collaboration that began several years ago,” said Don Lewis, SCA Tissue president. “It is a result of customer insights received from around the world. We asked, listened and responded with a family of washroom dispensers that meet all our customers’ needs in hygiene and efficiency, with a design that quietly conforms to every washroom environment.”
Developed by Thomas Meyerhoffer, an award-winning Swedish-American designer, the new line showcases Tork’s commitment to hygiene, sustainability, innovation and efficiency. Dispensers including towel, bath tissue and soap are available in either black or white and feature semi-transparent windows, making it easy to see when they need refilling. The modern, seamless designs are simple, sleek and unobtrusive, and the sculptural forms are carefully balanced to be silent and neutral, complementing any washroom environment, anywhere in the world.
“We understand the crucial role that a washroom’s overall efficiency and aesthetic plays in the success of a business,” said Ian West, product director-washroom, SCA Tissue North America. “Elevation dispensers are pleasing to the eye, long-lasting, and can help save maintenance time, reduce waste and improve hygiene – all for significant cost savings and a better washroom environment.”
Tork Elevation dispensers have received global recognition from top design critics, including the iF Design Award for the dispensers’ combination of efficiency, convenience, aesthetics and innovation. The Elevation line also received the Red Dot Design Award, the largest and most renowned design competition in the world, for its impressive degree of innovation, functionality and formal quality.
