We care about the entire life-cycle

We strive for the lightest footprint possible, everyday.

  • We begin making paper that is 100% recycled with over 760,000 tons of wastepaper, of which 470,000 is post-consumer waste. That’s over 60%!

  • We make them in regional facilities with efficient manufacturing that includes a focus on reducing waste, water and energy usage, and in-house recycling processes. Our Alabama and Wisconsin operations are the first North American tissue mills to earn ISO 14001 certification. Our Arizona and New York Operations are in process. ISO 14001 helps identify the environment impacts of products or processes and implements a systematic approach to continual improvement.

  • These regionally made products are put in locally sourced, recycled content cases that are printed with water-based inks.

  • They are delivered to our customers from these regional locations with our best-in-class fill rates exceeding 99%. Did you know that we can provide one-day transit to over 70% of our customers? This regional approach reduces miles per case, diesel usage, transportation emissions, and congestion on the road. SCA is part of the EPA SmartWay Transport Partnership and we continually increase our percentage of intermodal shipments.

  • Just as we strive for the smallest footprint, we continue to make sure our products themselves best utilize their own space. Our SmartFit initiatives optimize shipping units to reduce fuel usage and warehouse storage needs. We’ve been able to optimize nearly 10.2 million cubic feet of trailer space that was previously unused. That has allowed us to annually save 3200 trucks and 280,000 gallons of diesel fuel. It also saved 1.6 million miles, enough to drive around the earth 64 times! That's a savings year over year.

  • Our innovative Tork Systems help reduce consumption at the source – with the consumer. This helps reduce the amount of waste being disposed of in local landfills.

  • Our cases, cores, and wrappers are all recyclable. This reduces the burden on local landfills and completes the loop, providing recycled content to begin the process again.
